Blogger, M.D.

You may have noticed that in the seventeen months this blog has existed, I have shouted my whispers, organized my brain clutter, written down inane thoughts and cleared out mental cobwebs. After that personal and professional hiatus, I am getting my life back into rhythm and learning new lessons as a part time corporate hospital slave, part time private practitioner and part time educator.

I've been around the Philippine online community since 1995 - when BBSes, 14400 modems and Bluewave taglines were still the "in" thing. I'm pretty sure some of you might be familiar with those handy JQ Notes that you used to read before Medicine endorsements, right? One of the fondest memory of my BBSing days was actually meeting JQ while submitting lab samples. I was in third year med school and JQ was already an intern but we've been exchanging messages in one of the BBSes that I've been visiting. He was very nice enough to share tips and notes about med school.

Fast forward to more than ten years after I started logging in. I've gotten my MD, took a few turns, finished my specialty but my love for technology and my fascination for the internet is still there. I am amazed at how much online information has been continuously changing medical education and medical practice, how the internet enabled colleagues from all over the archipelago share experiences in patient management and more importantly it showed the rest of the world that we're human too.

I may have been around the net for quite a long time but I am certainly a noob when it comes to blogging and the blogosphere. I took me some time to fully digest what a blog carnival meant but I certainly am excited to be a part of a project that would surely open avenues for more exchange of ideas among Pinoy MD bloggers.

This is such a really cool idea, Bone MD. Kudos to you! Now I'm tagging other Pinoy MD-Bloggers whom I've met about a year ago through blogging: rheiboy17 and duke. I know you guys are still lurking around the blogosphere.

Tara Lets na. Let's go sago...
